When Life throws a change and staying Mindful

Change- Most humans have an emotional response to this word. Most of us fight this word. Sudden change can be frightening. Fear comes from not knowing what is coming next. When the word suddenly doesn't look the same or how we plan it. The feelings that can emerge with sudden change are fear, anxiety, depression. My life changed last year and it turned my word upside down but once I let go, the change became very positive.

As I write this my daughter and my family are going through a significant change and I am reminded at the fact that things happen for a reason. Although this seems cliche;, it is so true. I believe that although my daughter was unable to follow the path she was on due to a curve ball, she is ready for the next chapter of her life.

I tell clients all the time that life is one Y in the road leading to the next Y and sometimes we need to just camp at the bottom of the Y for a bit until we are led to where the road is supposed to take us. That is being mindful. Stop, Listen, Wait and then move. The answer will come, I promise you as it always does.

How does this equate to dancing? I realized something big this week in my own journaling and that is...Letting go of control and letting go of outcomes, allows the lead to happen with life, just like letting go, as a follower on the floor, allows the leader to lead us. If you are fighting for control and fighting for the outcomes, for fer of what might happen, then there is no mindfulness in life, or...with dance.

Have a wonderful Sunday and please share my blog
